Kessell issues the budget report for the current time period. The Winter Clinic made a $300 profit and we currently have $1,024 in our account.
Winter Clinic 2018
Thankful for our sponsors: New Bern Sporting Goods, Jeff Chapman, and Hudl. Cornwell states that we need to facilitate a better interaction between high school coaches and the vendors. Cornwell’s Idea: At the AD Meeting they give you a card with ten blank lines and if you talk to the vendors they sign each line. Once you reach 10, you can be entered into a drawing.
Options for the 2019 Clinic – Caleb King says maybe we should rent out ECU or use their facility for our clinic. We will get prices from Ethan Johnson and discuss with local hotels for cheaper group rates. Cornwell says we will continue with the offensive and defensive rooms for sessions as that worked better for the coaches in attendance. Garrett Wingate suggests that we do a session on proper equipment fitting for player safety and Cornwell mentioned about
maybe asking a Heads Up tackling trainer (EZ Smith) to come in and speak. We discussed opening up the sponsorship to new bids so that we can maximize our profits. Greenville was the central location that was reiterated by numerous members who were present.
Are we being heard? Coach King, Coach Tew, and numerous others mentioned that the procedures to have open discussions about complaints or changes is very difficult because of the disorganized bureaucracy that currently exists. How can we make communication between the ENCFCA and the NCFCA easier.
Association Ideas – Cornwell and Harold Robinson suggest that we reach out to retired coaches and get them more involved. They are a valuable resource that coaches can use to better themselves. Cornwell even suggest we could create a partnership where they help with dead period activities.
Recruiting Fair -We need to organize a recruiting fair again to ensure that our unsigned student athletes will find the right opportunities. We will discuss further at the next meeting
Opening week high school Jamboree hosted at ECU – gives high school kids a chance to play on a college field. Ethan Johnson from ECU said the 2019 season is the most logical target date for such an event.
March meeting will be March 26th at the Carolina Ale House in Jacksonville.
April Meeting will be April 30th at the Hitch N Post in Williamston.
