Meeting Minutes
February 1, 2016
- Call to order
David Boal called to order the regular meeting of the ENCFCA at 7:46pm on February 1, 2016 at Professor O’Cools. Guest speakers were Brian Overton and Phil McGeoghan from ECU.
- Roll call
Ron Cook conducted a roll call. The following persons were present: *Need a sign in sheet next meeting*
- Approval of minutes from last meeting
Ron Cook read the minutes from the last meeting. The minutes were approved as read. A financial report was given by Coach Kessel.
- Open issues
- Change the target audience of the college nights. Coach Boal reported that college coaches expressed that they would rather talk to coaches as oppose to players and their parents.
- Opened the floor to new ideas or improvements to ENCFCA clinic. Talked about adding special teams talks and a turf clinic. Coaches agreed that the one day format worked out well.

- New business
- A turf clinic was presented by Tommy Walston. The clinic will take place on May 21st and the location is to be determined.
- Revisited getting all ENCFCA members HEADS UP certification.
- There will be a Shrine Bowl Combine held at Kinston High School on June 4th.
- On March 26th East Carteret will be hosting a Bobby Bentley QB/WR camp. The cost is $50 and players can register at bobbybentley.com.
- JH Rose may be hosting a clinic that will be put on by NC State on April 15.
- The possibilities of hosting a weight lifting meet was brought to the table.
- An ENCFCA All-Star team was discussed and coaches agreed on possibly having Pre-Season players to watch each year. We also discussed the possibility of created an eastern all-star game sometime after the association builds more notoriety.
- A yearly coaches award was discussed and everyone agreed that such an award should recognize outstanding offensive and defensive assistants.

David Boal adjourned the meeting at 8:44pm.
